Dauniškis park and fountain
If you suddenly hear music wafting in the air during a walk in the centre of Utena, it’s a sign that you should probably check out the illuminated singing fountain located right next to Lake Dauniškis! The city received it in 2011 as a gift for its 750th anniversary. The fountain is nestled within an exquisitely maintained park beloved by the locals and visitors alike. Here you’ll find not only multiple walking paths and benches, but also lots of gardens, a pontoon bridge, several playgrounds, beaches, free Wi-Fi, and cosy lighting that comes on in the evening. The fountain, active from late spring to early autumn, has both a day and an evening programme. The most impressive one is launched on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as during holidays, when music plays for 30-40 minutes straight, as the fountain projects laser patterns onto the sky and in the water. By the way, you can even request songs by sending a short message from your phone!
