Molėtai, a town increasingly popular with tourists and holiday-makers due to its gorgeous landscape, has nearly 300 lakes. This includes the country’s longest – Lake Asveja, which in places reaches as many as 50 metres in depth. Nestled within the Labanoras Regional Park you’ll find the exceptionally beautiful Lake Kertuojai, as well as the no less picturesque Baltieji Lakajai and Juodieji Lakajai. Since about a quarter of the region’s territory is covered in woods, finding a good spot for bathing here couldn’t be easier. Molėtai has plenty of both – secluded shores and modern campsites, resorts, nature trails encompassing the city-side lakes, and rural cabins tucked away cosily among fragrant pine trees.
The beach of Lake Asveja, located in the Asveja Regional Park, is famous for its exceptional quality and convenience. The 500-metre stretch of sand has everything required for quality rest: a wooden bridge, comfy benches, changing rooms, bathrooms, gazebos, and even a bar open during the summer months. In addition, you can also rent a boat, paddleboard or canoe and explore the lake’s most alluring islands.
The Molėtai city beach that stretches along Lake Pastovis is not only easy to access, but also fully equipped for those seeking a moment of peace and quiet. The renovated beach has a sports field, several playgrounds, a bridge suitable for getting in and out of canoes, multiple benches, and a 20-spot car park. If you contact the administration in advance, you can also use a wheelchair for disabled people that can easily be turned into a beach lounger.
Lake Bebrusai is a great spot for fishing, while its shores offer an ideal place for rest in stunning natural surroundings. The lake is ringed by multiple resorts and cabins with their own beaches and tons of attractions for adults and children alike: saunas, cafés, sports grounds, hammocks, tightrope walking equipment, event venues, and much more.
