OKT/VIlnius City Theatre

Founded by the internationally renowned, and award winning director Oskaras Koršunovas, the theatre is home to some of the most fearless and incendiary theatre in Lithuania, and beyond. Known for his confrontational and thought provoking style, Koršunovas set up the theatre so that he could wield full artistic control over his productions, as well as provide a space for other innovative artists of the form to experiment. For theatre fans looking for another flavour that might be a little sharper and spicier than the norm, this is the place to visit. Many of his performances attract the same level of fandom and interest as established rock acts, so it’s recommended that you check listings in advance. Warning, some of the plays can be pretty confrontational, and they are all delivered in Lithuanian, but their force and artistry make them essential must-sees.
