Lithuanian Railway Museum
Located in the heart of Vilnius, and housed partially on the second floor of the city’s central train station is the country’s railway museum - a perfect diversion for both trainspotters and families alike. Here you’ll find almost 900 exhibits covering every facet of the railway industry in Lithuania, from customer travel, to maintenance, to signaling, and everything in between. And it wouldn’t be a real railway museum without the locomotives and rolling stock itself - and here the museum definitely doesn’t disappoint, with 12 exhibits spread out over the 7,100 m2 open-air exhibition area. You’ll see road vehicles, wagons, trains, locomotives, a water steam pump, a wagon heating boiler, and an old road worker hammer. And all within walking distance of the centre of Vilnius.
