With spring also comes an influx of migratory birds, and Lithuania is a great spot for birdwatchers (or birders) looking to tick off a large number of species. In fact, during the spring months a massive 190 different species can be spotted across different locations. One of the best places to start any spring bird watching adventure is the Nemunas Delta Regional Park, which is very much the land of birds. Here you can catch sight of such rare beauties as the Aquatic Warbler, Great Snipe, Greater-spotted Eagle, Citrine Wagtail and many others. After this there is the remarkable beauty of the Curonian Spit national park to explore. Here you’ll be confronted with a landscape of huge shifting dunes, lush forest starting to take leaf, and silver shimmering beaches that line the Baltic Sea. Alongside a plethora of sea eagles and more common seabirds, you might catch a glimpse of Blyth’s Reed and Greenish Warblers or Tawny Pipit.
