The main street of Palanga, which leads to the sea bridge, was formerly known as Tiškevičius Boulevard. In the summer of 1924, the city was visited by Dr Jonas Basanavičius – the street’s namesake.
In honour of the nation's patriarch, the people of Palanga named Tiškevičius Boulevard after Jonas Basanavičius. Visitors tend to come back to this street multiple times, as it is full of cafés and other attractions.
