Juoda Druska (Black Salt)

Juoda Druska (Black Salt) is a restaurant and lounge bar in Kaunas that – despite its novelty – has already become popular with city locals and visitors alike. The idea for the restaurant was developed by Simone Rotoli – an Italian who has lived in Kaunas for the past 15 years. When talking about the restaurant, Rotoli often jokes that him being Italian doesn’t mean that patrons will find any pasta or other Italian foods on the restaurant’s menu. Instead, Juoda Druska serves modern dishes prepared by carefully balancing the Mediterranean cuisine’s varied tastes. The cocktails served in the lounge bar are quite exceptional, too – partly because the syrups used as ingredients are made by Mr Rotoli himself.
