Founded in 1922, this is one of the oldest museums in the country. Mixing the traditional with the contemporary, the museum’s exhibits touch on everything from the history of the classroom in Lithuania (with an authentic reconstruction of one you can step into) to the use and development of Morse code. The second floor is where the main permanent collection with its plethora of fun and interesting exhibits on education in Lithuania is housed, while the third floor houses the morse code and Enigma machine exhibits. The museum’s first floor is reserved for smaller traveling exhibitions, and in recent years it has seen its walls hung with the works of Salavador Dali and Marc Chagall.
