Step inside Vilnius’ late Baroque gem, and you’ll feel the gaze of 4,000 sculpted eyes watching over you. Italian sculptures, striking paintings, and a ship-shaped chandelier make this church truly unforgettable.

Vilnius Sts. Peter and Paul Church is one of Lithuania’s most famous Baroque buildings. Its façade bears the words “Regina Pacis funda nos in pace” (“Queen of Peace, strengthen us in peace”), honoring its founder, Voivod of Vilnius and principal commander of the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Mykolas Kazimieras Pacas, who built the church to thank God for a military victory. His remains rest in the crypt beneath the entrance.

Inside, admire Pranciskus Smuglevicius painting “The Farewell of Sts. Peter and Paul”, also „The Five Wounds of Christ“, and „The Blessed Virgin Mary the Gracious“, long a source of hope during plagues and hardships.

Near the church, the Chapel of the Lord Jesus glows at night, a gentle reminder that goodness is always visible.
