The Shrine of the Divine Mercy is one of the most important spiritual destinations in Vilnius, attracting believers and pilgrims from Lithuania and around the world.

The shrine is home to the original image of the Merciful Jesus, painted in Vilnius according to the visions of Saint Faustina.

The painting depicts Jesus dressed in a white tunic, blessing with His right hand and touching His heart with His left, from which pale and red rays emerge. These rays symbolize grace, hope, and trust – central themes of the Divine Mercy message. The image has also been visited by Pope John Paul II during his time in Vilnius.

A short distance from the city center, visitors can also explore Saint Faustina’s former home, where she lived between 1933 and 1936, experienced her visions, and recorded them in her diary. This site is part of the pilgrimage route The Way of Mercy, which connects key locations linked to Vilnius as the City of Mercy.

Spiritual Experiences. Every day at 3:00 p.m., the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed at the shrine – a devotion originating from the revelations received by Saint Faustina. The Feast of Divine Mercy is celebrated annually on the first Sunday after Easter. On the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday, the Way of Light procession takes place, beginning at the Gate of Dawn Chapel and concluding at the Shrine of Divine Mercy.
