With its genesis back in the 1980’s, this theatre can rightly be called the cradle of modern dance in Lithuania. In fact, the theatre organised the first Lithuanian international dance festival in 1989, and has been home to what has become the “Aura” international dance festival, which takes place every autumn.

And this international spirit is still very much in effect today, with the theatre’s troupe being composed of dancers from across the globe. The theatre not only hosts performances, it is also instrumental in training the next generation of performers.
