Klaipėda’s Magical Sculpture Trail 

Where can you find a dragon, a mermaid, a fisherman, a girl blowing a kiss, or a mouse who gives you a wish when you rub its nose? Where else but in Klaipėda. And some of these sculptures even have their own love story attached to them. Take the sculpture “Ann from Tharau”, which takes center stage in the city’s Theatre Square. Immortalized as the protagonist of Klaipėda born German poet Simon Dach’s famous poem, Ann was a girl with whom the poet fell in love at first sight. Unfortunately, and this is where tragedy strikes, she was already engaged, so this love was never to be. All these charming sculptures and more are there to be discovered if you take a wander around Klaipeda old town and its environs.
