Klaipėda

Going on a Baltic cruise? Then Klaipėda is the port of call you can’t afford to miss. It’s arguably one of the county’s most historically rich Lithuanian cities. Just look around and you’ll see loads of cute German styled houses, and quirky little metal statues on every corner.

In Klaipėda, moored by the main promenade you’ll find multiple retired maritime vessels, one of which has been transformed into a unique floating restaurant serving local dishes and delights. There’s never a wrong time to visit Klaipėda, but for the best experience we’d recommend coming for the Klaipėda Sea Festival, the Klaipėda Castle Jazz Festival, or the Klaipėda Ship Parade. And for those arriving in Vilnius, Kaunas or anywhere else in the country – Klaipėda is at most a few hours by train or car.
