Narrowgauge railway in Anykščiai

Once widely used for regional lines, today the Lithuanian narrowgauge railway is a piece of rail history you can discover at the Anykščiai Railway Station. The 19thcentury station houses the NarrowGauge Railway Museum with an authentic steam locomotive, signalling equipment, and an antique rail scale that can weigh your whole family at once. This feel of another epoch is enhanced by the museum’s surroundings – railings, the old station building, a water tower, and a cobbled square. You can experience how a waiting room looked in the interwar years, see the room where the station chief worked, and even go on a ride on the manual railcar and the station railbicycle.
