Museum of Ethnocosmology

Looking like a flying saucer that has crash landed in the picturesque Lithuanian countryside, the Ethnocosmology Museum, located close to the pretty town of Molėtai 60 kilometers north of Vilnius is one all you stargazers out there. Taking a unique approach to its subject, the museum is arranged around the concept of the world tree. In the underground gallery, or roots of the tree, there are many exhibits covering both Baltic and global cosmological and ethnological beliefs. Meanwhile in the top floor, or the upper branches of the tree is the observatory floor. Here you watch the planets and stars, and in the months of August and September even catch a shower of shooting stars if you are lucky.
