Interwar Museum
Step into a pivotal era of remarkable growth and transformation. The museum features meticulously reconstructed spaces: D. Rozmarinas' bustling goods store, B. Rabinavičius' "Geležies sankrova" (Iron Warehouse), the elegant "MRM" barbershop, and fascinating exhibits on interwar Kaunas women's fashion and beauty culture – when the city earned its nickname "little Paris" for its sophisticated style. The pharmaceutical industry displays showcase the period's medical advances, while the precious Judaica collection honors Lithuanian Jewish heritage with rare religious artifacts, including ornate Kiddush cups and the country's only surviving silver Torah crown.
The museum's remarkable collection preserves thousands of authentic artifacts once owned by Lithuania's cultural elite, military officers, prominent bankers, and successful entrepreneurs like the influential Vailokaitis brothers, who founded "Ūkio bankas," one of the nation's major financial institutions, in 1919.
