When you think of winter in Lithuania you might not think of downhill ski-ing, but you should! Lithuania is fast developing its own snow scene. There’s the Lithuanian Winter Sports Centre in Ignalina, the Jonava Ski Centre or the Vilnius Liepkalnis Amusement Park.

Meanwhile, in the west of the country, there is Utrių kalnas, the first and only ski centre in the Klaipėda region. It has a 170-metre blue ski slope and a 250-metre red slope, as well as a separate slope for children and beginners, a snow park for snowboarders, an equipment rental point and an Austrian-style café.

And if the weather has you beaten and you’re not into going outdoors, there is always Druskininkai Snow Arena. Located in Lithuania (and arguably the region’s) most famous spa town, the Snow Arena has both indoor and outdoor slopes. And after the slopes, there’s all the amazing and unique spa treatments the town is famous for waiting for you.
