The Memel Nord Battery

History buffs are in for a treat should they decide to travel north of Klaipeda. Here, concealed in the dunes of the pristine shore of the Baltic Sea are the remnants of a series of World War 2 bunkers. Although their external walls have been eroded by the bite of briny winds, and given a modern graffiti sheen, their rooms and corridors are still intact and can be accessed by a special entrance. Inside, you will find specially curated exhibits and authentic furnishings that will give you a feel of what it might have been like to spend your days in these damp and cramped spaces.
