Sculpture Trail in Klaipėda

Charming sculptures populate the Klaipėda Old Town and Downtown. Following a special route, you can meet a dragon, a mermaid, a fisherman, a girl blowing a kiss, and even a mouse who grants you a wish when you rub its nose. Some of these sculptures even have their own love story attached to them. Take the sculpture “Ann from Tharau”, which takes centre stage in the city’s Theatre Square. Immortalised as the protagonist of Klaipėdaborn German poet Simon Dach’s famous poem, Ann was a girl with whom the poet fell in love at first sight. Unfortunately, she was already engaged, so this love was never to be.
