Sea Festival in Klaipėda

Klaipėda, Lithuania’s laidback port city, is perfect for a quiet city break by the sea. But once a year, its streets are exceptionally full of hustle and bustle. First held back in 1934, Jūros šventė, or Sea Festival, is among Lithuania’s biggest and longestrunning annual events. The festival takes place the last weekend of July and draws thousands of people to celebrate Lithuanian maritime traditions and the summer season. A spree of concerts, craft fairs, and performances, the event features everything from a colourful parade through the city’s streets to international sailing races.
