Juniper Valley Trail

Everyone is raving about the fresh scent of pine trees but have you ever been exposed to the overpowering aroma of juniper berries? The Juniper Valley on the shore of the Kauno Marios water reservoir covers almost 5 hectares and stands as one of the largest juniper groves in central Lithuania. The 5-km trail offers spectacular views of River Nemunas, the surrounding hill and the Kauno Marios reservoir.

Part of the trail resembles a mountain bridge, while other sections wind through forest paths. It's suitable for disabled access and ideal for families with strollers. Along with their charm, the junipers in the valley release antimicrobial substances that clean the air, providing health benefits for all who walk here. In 2016, the trail was recognized as the most beautiful educational path in Lithuania. The trail takes about 30-40 minutes to complete and can be easily accessed by car, with a convenient parking area near the trailhead.
