Situated in the Nemunas River Delta, around 50 km from the port city of Klaipėda, Ventė is rightly famed as a goto destination for birdwatchers. The headland sees half a million of birds passing each day during the peak migratory season in September and October. It is also home to one of the oldest bird ringing stations in Europe and the world! Here you can brush up on your bird knowledge, snap some amazing pictures, and climb the 170yearold lighthouse for a scenic view of the Curonian Lagoon. From here, you get a truly bird’seye view of the blue waters of the Baltic and the Curonian Spit’s famed golden dunes.
