Street food

Lithuania’s street food scene is exploding with flavours. Here, food trucks and market stalls offer a simple, convenient, and delicious way to sample cuisines from around the world.

Choose from juicy burgers, soft pitas, crispy pizzas, fresh sandwiches, hot stews, spicy noodles, fragrant paellas and, of course, the big, fat Lithuanian cepelinai, among other options. Moving dining outdoors, street food has also combined it with concerts, performances, and parties. Enjoy your meal lounging on the lawn in the middle of the city, exploring an arts festival by the sea, or dancing till dawn to a DJ set at the capital's oldest market. Whatever your preference, there’s a combination of flavour and setting that you’ll fall in love with.

Top street food spots in Lithuania

Bernardinų Kiemas, Vilnius

Nestled next to the green oasis that is the Bernardine Garden, Bernardinų Kiemas is where street food fans, cold drink lovers, and inflatable trampoline enthusiasts meet for a good time. There’s plenty to do here, from colouring the pavement with crayons to watchings sports on huge screens. In addition to a number of food trucks, you’ll find three bars and plenty of playground space for the little ones.

Halės Turgus, Vilnius

An architectural peer to the famous Krakow and Budapest markets, Halės Turgus is the oldest market in Vilnius. This vibrant indoor space hosts food counters, bakeries, cafes, and shops selling gourmet and local delicacies. But after dusk on weekends, the market transforms into Naktinė Halė – Halė at Night – so you can grab a cocktail and dance to DJ tunes well into the night.

Brastos Skveras, Kaunas

Next to the River Neris and right in front of the Kaunas Castle, the food trucks at Brastos Skveras serve everything from ribs to pasta. Here, delicious food and cold drinks are complemented by excellent views of the river and the Old Town, as well as DJ sets on Friday nights.
