The city has rail, sea, and air links. Railway transport connects Plungė with Klaipėda, which is one of the key rail distribution hubs in the Baltic States. As for sea ports, Plungė is less than one hour away from Klaipėda Seaport which is the most northern ice-free port in the Baltics. Palanga airport is also less than an hour away from Plungė city.
