Tour and activities in Rumšiškės Ethnographic Open Air Museum

Situated 80 km northwest of Vilnius and 20 km from Kaunas Rumsiskes Open-Air Ethnic Museum is a mosaic of ancient Lithuanian villages. Old farmstead buildings from all the ethnographic regions have been moved to the shore to the Kaunas Sea - dwelling houses, granaries, threshing bars, cattle-sheds are all in harmony with the breath-taking natural scenery. Be a Viking in Vilnius

An hour-long cruise showcases the stunning Kaunas Reservoir Regional Park and the 17th-18th century Pažaislis Monastery, a Late Baroque masterpiece. Opt for a two-hour tour to the Bay of Love and Rumšiškės, or a six-hour journey to Birštonas and the Nemunas Loop Regional Park. Discover the beauty of the Curonian Lagoon

What better way to see the treasures of Lithuania’s Curonian Spit than by boat. Whether you choose a leisure steamboat, where you can simply lay back and soak in the surroundings, or a yacht, where a little teamwork and effort is needed – there’s always much to enjoy.

You’ll find plenty of boats and yachts for hire in both the yacht club at Smiltynė and the harbour at Nida, where you can choose shorter and longer duration hires. You’ll also have the chance to have a crew on board, or rely on your own team (just make sure you have done some training first). Sailing from Nida to Smiltynė, you can admire the sandy, rugged Curonian Spit, the majestic Hills of Vecekrugas, Karvaičiai, Avių Hill, Vinkis Dune, and Naglis Cape. Don't miss the tiny Amber Bay and the stunning Dead Dunes near Juodkrantė.

Enjoy the Baltic Sea view from the deck of a cruise ship

Sit back and enjoy the soft sound of waves breaking on the side of the ship, while a gentle sea breeze caresses your face. You’ll see terns, seagulls, and maybe even sea eagles swooping around in the sky above, with the immensity of the Baltic stretching out all around you. You can enjoy all this and more on the Venus, a three deck marine ship that’s able to accommodate between 20 and 200 passengers, making it perfect for smaller groups, or even a whole company.

The boat has departures on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, with the ship’s voyage taking 1.5 hours. You’ll also learn a little as you go, with the boat’s on board guide telling you some fascinating facts about the water around Klaipėda port, the Baltic Sea, and the Curonian Lagoon.

Travel from Druskininkai to Liškiava by the River Nemunas

Travelling down the Nemunas River you will feel as light as a feather! Enjoy the easy ride down this blue ribbon of water surrounded by beautiful green woods, mounds, hills and villages. You can join a trip to Liškiava by steamboat on the Druskininkai–Liškiava–Druskininkai route. Cruises are available from May 1 to October 15, Tuesdays–Sundays. The ship leaves Druskininkai at 2.30 pm; the voyage takes 4 hours: you will reach Liškiava in 40 minutes, then spend 1 hour and 20 minutes on a tour of Liškiava, while another hour is spent on the return trip along the Nemunas River.

In Liškiava you will see some of the most beautiful Late Baroque style buildings – the Monastery and the Holy Trinity Church. The upscale resort of Druskininkai is widely renowned because of its mineral water springs, the water of which is used in numerous treatments, health and beauty procedures. The resort also enjoys numerous other tourist advantages: pine trees, two entertainment parks, an adventure park and an abundance of natural and cultural monuments and sites.

Enjoy scenic views of Vilnius from the river Neris

Looking to develop a love of Lithuania’s majestic capital, but from a more unique viewpoint? Aboard the Ryga river tour, you can marvel at historic landmarks like the majestic Gediminas Castle and the iconic Three Crosses monument, both perched on scenic hills. These are not just your usual train journeys – you can choose from differently themed experiences, from gourmet journeys into Lithuanian cuisines, to musical journeys, and even a theatrical performance where the train is attacked by bandits! Perfect for large groups.

Duration: the narrow gauge railway ride, including the entertainment programme and tour, takes a full day.

Get down and dirty with a swamp tour

If you are the adventurous type and looking to give your team a more challenging experience, this is a must. Professional guides will take you on a tour of the network bogs and marshes that characterise the countryside in and around the scenic town of Trakai. This is a proper feet-first experience which will have you up to your shoulders, and maybe neck, in swamp mud. So, if you're brave enough, this is quite literally a memory that will stick with you! And once you’re all done with swamping around, there’s a hot sauna and a dip in the lake to look forward to.
