Ignalina city is located in eastern Lithuania, 110 km from the capital Vilnius. This city and two small villages within the Ignalina municipality has a resort area status which means a number of beautiful sightseeing places, clean environment and modern facilities. 200 lakes and protected national and regional parks are part of this unique place in Lithuania.

Ignalina is lovingly called “The Pearl of Eastern Lithuania”. With Lithuania’s surface being rather flat, this part of the country meets is visitors with distinguishingly different landscape and most importantly – atmosphere.

The city of Ignalina has a long history of winter sports like as skiing. There are several skiing spots and slopes within Ignalina that visitors can tour and engage in. The winter sports centre is usually open throughout the year and, therefore, visitors are welcome at all times. The skiing sport equipment is readily available and the visitors can easily rent them and enjoy the Alpine skiing slopes.
