Porcelain Gallery in Panevėžys
Lovers of the finest ceramic ware are in for a treat at the Porcelain Gallery. Located in the town of Panevėžys, the largest town and heart of the green and glorious region of Aukštaitija, this museum gathers some truly beautiful examples of porcelain from across the world and over the centuries. Works from most esteemed manufacturers are in attendance, from Meissen, KPM – Royal Porcelain Manufactory (Berlin), Fiurstenberg, Frankenthal, Nymphenburg, Wallendorf, Volksted, and Sitzendorf, amongst many others. Whatever your fancy – be it hand-painted and gilded vases, chandeliers, large and small figure compositions, large and small figures and compositions in white bisque (unglazed porcelain – you’ll find memorable examples on show that will tickle it. And it’s not only manufacturers or forms that are on display in multitude. Exhibits also run the gamut of historical styles from Imari to Rococo, Classicism and Art Deco, Art Nouveau to Modernism.
