Forested and untamed, the Dzūkija region is best discovered by foot. The Dzūkija National Park offers the 14-kilometre Zackagiris Educational Trail featuring the most captivating sites of Dzūkija. Starting near the visitor centre, the trail loops around Marcinkonys, offering sights like Šaudzyklos Hill, Grūda River, and the church of Marcinkonys. Visitors can choose the full route or opt for a shorter 7-kilometre loop. The more adventurous will encounter sand dunes, learn why a lake is called "Bear’s Arse," and reach the heart of the forest.
