Workation in Lithuania: from birdhouses to monasteries
By the way, workation spots propose more than just a roof over your head. Depending on the place, you can get access to a wellness centre, balanced work-life schedules, endless coffee refills, “farm to table” meals, walking routes for remote job interviews routes, entertainment, child care services, and much more.
And to those who don’t want to be mixing their places of rest and their remote offices, Lithuania offers numerous inspirational co-working spaces, ranging from railway stations to cruise terminals.
Work at a manor
Paliesius Manor (Ignalina District) is ideal for the health-conscious, being home to Paliesius Clinic, dedicated to helping people that have issues with blood pressure, diabetes, body weight, heart disease, and chronic fatigue, as well as those seeking a healthier lifestyle. Here, you can also enjoy unlimited bike rides and Nordic walking sessions.
Other benefits: a restaurant serving Aukštaitija Region’s traditional dishes, a park with a fountain that doesn’t freeze over in winter, and a concert hall that hosts classical music performances. Paliesius Manor also offers several on-demand educational programmes, the most popular of which is the roll cake-making workshop.
If you’re interested in Ignalina and its environs, the local Tourism Information Centre recommends visiting the St. John the Baptist Church in Mielagėnai Village, which looks remarkably similar to the Vilnius Cathedral, as well as the city’s historical street villages: Mėčionys, Guntauninkai, Senosios Katinautiškės, and Kukutėnai.
