Prestigious “Falstaff” Guide Rates Lithuanian Hotels for the First Time: Nearly 60 Places Included in the Recommendations List

Lithuanian hotels have received significant international recognition: the prestigious gastronomy, travel and lifestyle publication Falstaff has presented its Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide 2026 for the first time, assessing the accommodation sector in Lithuania as well. Special awards were also announced, honouring outstanding hotels and hospitality professionals in the country.

The Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide 2026 features a total of 1,200 hotels in seven countries: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Hotels were evaluated according to their surroundings, room comfort, wellness services, service quality, gastronomic offering and location. The rating system is based on feedback from members of the Falstaff Gourmet Club and Circle Club around the world, which is reviewed, and final scores are determined by a panel of Falstaff Travel journalists.

This prestigious guide recommended 58 Lithuanian hotels, with 28 of them rated 90 points or more out of 100 by Falstaff experts. At the top of the list were Esperanza Lake Resort in Trakai, Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton in Vilnius, and Monist in Palanga, each scoring 95 points.

A Mark of the Highest Quality

Independent Falstaff experts who evaluated Lithuanian hotels noted that Lithuania is one of the most attractive tourism destinations in the region. The baroque Old Town of Vilnius blends seamlessly with vibrant contemporary culture and a growing selection of luxury hotels, while the seaside and lakeside resorts offer a wealth of nature and wellness experiences.

“The international recognition of Lithuania’s tourism sector is the result of consistent cooperation between business and the state. Such accolades strengthen the country’s competitiveness, encourage inbound tourism and contribute to the growth of Lithuania’s economy. It is gratifying to see that our country’s hospitality sector is increasingly noticed and valued internationally,” says Guoda Burokienė, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania.

Olga Gončarova, the General Manager at Lithuania Travel, notes that such recognition contributes to Lithuania’s visibility in foreign markets as a high-quality travel destination.

“Partnership with the prestigious Falstaff guide is a strategically important step that allows us to present Lithuania as a destination for exceptional experiences. These ratings serve as a strong mark of quality, which will undoubtedly increase Lithuania’s visibility among discerning foreign travellers seeking uniqueness and top-level service,” says O. Gončarova.

Special Awards for the Most Outstanding

The Falstaff Nordics Hotel Guide 2026 not only ranked the best Lithuanian hotels but also presented 10 special awards.

Hotel Pacai in Vilnius was named Hotel of the Year, AC Hotel Vilnius was selected as Best New Hotel, and the Hotel Manager of the Year award went to Sigita Rudzevičienė, who leads Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton.

“This double recognition from Falstaff – both for our hotel and for me personally – is a tremendous acknowledgement of the work of the entire team, because a leadership award never belongs to one person alone. Today, guests value not only comfort or service quality; they look for authentic experiences, attention to detail and a sincere connection. I am delighted that we can offer all of this, while also contributing to the growth of Lithuania’s hospitality sector and the country’s visibility worldwide,” says S. Rudzevičienė.

Falstaff experts named Mana Sleep & Spa in Druskininkai the Best Spa Hotel, while the Sustainability and Innovation Award went to Palanga Life Balance SPA Hotel. Radisson Collection Astorija Hotel in Vilnius was named Best City Hotel.

The title of Best Boutique Hotel went to Michaelson Boutique Hotel in Klaipėda, the title of Best Gastronomic Hotel was awarded to Monist in Palanga, and Esperanza Lake Resort in Trakai was recognised as the Best Hideaway Hotel.

A Lifetime Achievement Award was also presented. It went to the legends of Lithuania’s hospitality sector: the founders of Stikliai Hotel, Anna and Aleksandras Ciupij, and Romas Zakarevičius.
